Michelle Obama invites Common to the White House

 

Sarah Palin, Fox News and others are outraged that Michelle Obama invited Rapper Common to the White House for a poetry event. Fox called common VILE and have pulled up his lyrics complaining he raps about killing cops and is a violent rapper...

Clearly these people know nothing about Hip Hop at all. Calling Common Vile is ignorant. He's actually considered one of our most positive artist... if they think he's Violent & Vile, i'd hate to know what they think of some other rappers.

The backlash came quickly. Fox News called the Grammy-Award winning artist "vile," and right-leaning Matt Drudge featured the item prominently on his website under the headline "First Lady to host rapper who talks of killing cops, burning Bush." And The Daily Caller, a website run by conservative pundit Tucker Carlson, posted a sampling of offensive Common lyrics. -NY Daily News

"With that happening, why they messing with Saddam? Burn a Bush cos' for peace he no push no button. Killing over oil and grease, no weapons of destruction," Common says in "Letter To the Law,"

The First Lady's press office did not immediately return requests for comment.
